A Gradual Turnaround
04/28/08 - 05/04/08

You may feel like you drove into a fog bank at the beginning of the week with Mars quincunx nebulous Neptune on April 28. Yet, by the time Venus enters her home sign Taurus on April 30, you'll be ready to delve into the more concrete, material aspects of your life. Mercury's entrance into Gemini on May 2 brings plenty of communication but you'll need to watch your P's and Q's when Saturn squares Mercury on May 3 just after turning direct on May 2.
April 28: Mars quincunx Neptune

What are you doing and why are you doing it? As Mars advances in emotional Cancer, the contact with illusory Neptune is enough to make you tread water while you get your bearings. Not everything is being revealed right now and it will be impossible to get all of the data you may feel you need. However, this is an important time to regroup. Next month you will feel like you are on a forward track. For now: dogpaddle.

April 30: Venus enters Taurus

It's time to talk about money as Venus, the planet of relationships, moves into Taurus, the sign of values and finances. Sometimes money can be a difficult subject but now, since both Saturn and Pluto are in earth signs, there is great potential for thoughtful and beneficial discussions about this important topic. Whether you want to open a savings account or set aside money for a child's education, this is a great time to plan for the future.

May 2: Mercury enters Gemini and May 3 squares Saturn

Mercury in its home sign Gemini usually likes nothing better than to chat, read the paper, and run around doing errands. However, with the immediate square to serious Saturn in analytical Virgo, you'll have to stop in your tracks and think through everything you say. Do yourself a favor by being silent unless you have something worthwhile to add.

May 2: Saturn turns direct

Sure, things are moving slowly-- but don't hang back or go to sleep! Saturn's change in direction will bring some forward movement to your projects and plans. You'll gain traction by the end of the month, so plan well. Decide what you want to be responsible for, as well as what you need to let others do. You'll reap plenty of rewards by taking your time and being thoughtful now.

Source: California Psychics

"I believe influence is the union of power and purpose," wrote Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in an article about Oprah for Time. Astrologically, the Sun and Moon describe your purpose, while the power to manifest your goals is the domain of Saturn and Pluto. More specifically, the Sun represents your outer direction, the Moon represents your inner life, Saturn represents material accomplishment and Pluto represents pure power. When these cosmic elements are strongly placed in your chart, and you are living your purpose, then you'll have the leadership necessary to influence others.

Oprah has it. So does Suze Orman, Diane Sawyer and Hillary Clinton. What do these women have in common? Exceptional influence. They all have the power to change the way we think and feel. So what makes a person influential? Let's look at the charts of these dynamic women to discover their secret.

Oprah: enlightenment
This female powerhouse is an outstanding example of a woman who lives her purpose. Her Sun in Aquarius says her destiny is to bring enlightenment and change to the world, while her Moon in Sagittarius says she's a teacher and philosopher. Aquarius is an air sign that rules brotherhood, which makes Oprah a powerful communicator who brings people together. She shares information (Aquarius) and insights (Sagittarius) through her talk show, and helps others through her Angel Network and other philanthropic activities. Sagittarius also rules publishing and activities abroad, so Oprah magazine and her efforts to improve the lives of Africans are natural manifestations of her Moon.

The road to influence for her, however, has been marked by great challenges, beginning with a childhood of poverty. Her Saturn in Scorpio is "afflicted," meaning that karmic tests of strength, character and determination pave the way for great accomplishments. Interestingly in Oprah's chart, the planet of accomplishment (Saturn) is in the sign of power (Scorpio, which is ruled by Pluto). This combination creates both the desire and ability to change the world.

Diane Sawyer: truth
Another woman with a knack for leadership and sharing information is Diane Sawyer. The co-host of Good Morning America has had a wide-ranging career as a TV news reporter, political correspondent and administrator for the White House press office during the Nixon Administration. Sawyer has Sun in earthy Capricorn and Moon in dynamic Leo. The Capricorn placement indicates she's ambitious, realistic and disciplined, with the ability to climb the ranks of a male-dominated profession to the top. And with Moon, Mars and Pluto in Leo, she's a natural leader. Sawyer has Saturn conjunct Mars where determination (Saturn) meets assertiveness (Mars). When she sets her mind to something, nothing can stand in her way. Sawyer's talent as a correspondent also comes from her Mercury and Venus in Sagittarius, the sign of the teacher and truth-seeker. And with Pluto aspecting her Mercury, much of her influence comes from a compelling way with words and the ability to uncover the truth.

Suze Orman: communication
Through her best selling-books and TV shows on personal finance, Suze Orman has endeavored to guide people on the road to prosperity. Along with being a financial advisor, communication is her forte. And how appropriate, having Sun in Gemini, the sign of communication. Like Oprah, Orman's air-sign emphasis (she may have Moon in Gemini as well, depending on her time of birth) indicates a destiny of sharing information. Her Saturn in Virgo also indicates a destiny of service (she holds a B.A. in social work). Additionally, Virgo is an earth sign, which gives Orman a talent for giving practical and detailed advice. All in all, her influence is founded upon her sharing of knowledge and being of service to others - empowering them to be independent and prosperous in life.

Hilary Clinton: transformation
Another woman with a Scorpio-influenced destiny is Hilary Clinton. Her Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Pisces indicate she has the ability to transform existing conditions (Scorpio), especially for the underprivileged (Pisces). Both those signs are strongly connected to healing, so her determination to transform the U.S. healthcare system is an appropriate expression of her power. Intensifying Clinton's influence, especially in the political arena, is a conjunction of Saturn, Pluto and Mars in Leo. Like Oprah, Saturn and Pluto are linked energetically, so accomplishment and power are linked in both their characters. The additional Mars element in Clinton's chart energizes her aggressiveness in going after what she wants.

The Stars This Week by Amanda Owen

A New Week, a New Beginning
03/05/07 - 03/11/07

It's time for a change as the Sun conjuncts Uranus< /a> on March 5. Then, when Mercu ry turns direct on March 7, you can set in motion all of those plans you'd been reviewing during its retrograde period. You'll get all the support you need with Venus forming a tri ne to Jupiter< /a> on March 8 and then a trine to Saturn on March 9. But watch that your enthusiasm doesn't get the best of you as the Sun squares Jupiter -- also on March 9.
March 5: Sun conjunct Uranus
Are you ready to be liberated? Or is your life so fabulous that it couldn't benefit from something new and different? As the Sun travels through Pisces and meets up with eccentric Uranus, change is in the air. Conjunctions mark beginnings, and it's time for a new cycle. Surprises will occur, but know that this is appropriate for you now. It's time to reinvent yourself and leave behind old concepts that have nothing to do with you anymore.
March 7: Mercury turns direct
As Mercury ends its retrograde in Aquarius, it's time to incorporate everything you've learned since Mercury turned retrograde in Pisces on February 14. As this communication planet has traveled from a sensitive water sign back into a logical air sign, it'll be necessary to go back to old conversations with a more detached perspective. At times you may have felt that you were straddling two worlds: the emotions of your heart and the intellectual perspective of your mind. Now, however, with Mercury direct you can confidently implement the changes that you desire.
March 8: Venus trine Jupiter; March 9: Venus trine Saturn
Lovely Venus in feisty Aries forms a grand trine with enthusiastic Jupiter and serious Saturn -- providing a wealth of support! This is a great aspect for socializing and for advancing your personal and business relationships. Saturn provides stability, so you can go out on a limb and not risk falling. It seems like everybody loves you now, so take advantage of the goodwill.
March 9: Sun square Jupiter
Feeling misunderstood? Sometimes you can't fathom the world and the world can't fathom you. The Sun in sensitive Pisces wants to connect on an emotional level. Jupiter in Sagittarius is like an enthusiastic, well-meaning bull in a china shop. This is a highly optimistic square that is prone to overcommitment. Yet, at the same time, sometimes you need that over-the-top enthusiasm to accomplish things you wouldn't dream of otherwise.

5th March 2007 - 11th March 2007

If there was an astrological equivalent to a hurricane of change, this would be it. Uranus, the anarchist among the planets, is in spectacular form so we should be prepared to open the door, just a crack, to the new and totally different. I sometimes refer to this planet as the cosmic joker because you can never outsmart him: when you expect the worst, he'll give you a bunch of roses, and when you assume everything is nailed down, he'll find a way of blowing things apart. Babies born at this time will be the revolutionaries of years to come, whether they break through barriers in science, the arts or politics. Without Uranus we'd never have got to the moon, let alone the stars!

From Jonathan Cainer
Seven Year Cycle
Dear Jonathan,
I am fascinated by the 'seven-year cycle' idea. I am turning 56. What does this mean?
Arbra
Dear Arbra,
Saturn's movements are not exact to the calendar year. But roughly every seven years, Saturn gets about one quarter of the way round the cosmic clock face. Once every 28 years it returns to the zodiac position it held when we were born. That's when we face facts and make more realistic plans. It can be a tough time. It may require us to 'reinvent' ourselves. It always, though, heralds the onset of deeper discrimination and wisdom.
Your Week Ahead
Saturn moves slowly through the sky. It takes around 28 years to complete one cycle of the zodiac. Compared to Neptune, though, it is Speedy Gonzales. This distant outer-planet measures its progress in centuries. Every 36 years or so, the two align in opposition. Whenever they do, structures start to crumble. Established governments lose influence and popularity. Authority figures are called into question. People, meanwhile, become intoxicated by new, wildly idealistic ideas and beliefs. Saturn and Neptune are opposed right now, this very week, and will create this alignment one more time in late June. These are powerful times. History is being made all around us.

Become Comfortable with Uncertainty
02/26/07 - 03/04/07

Last year in late August and September, a solar eclipse occurred within a month of a Saturn/ Neptune opposition. It may be useful to think back on that period as Saturn opposes Neptune on February 28 and a lunar eclipse occurs in Virgo on March 3. Information-oriented Mercury's entrance into free-spirited Aquarius on February 27 helps you think creatively while assessing your progress in the midst of these dynamic planetary events.
February 27: Mercury enters Aquarius
As retrograding Mercury, the planet of communication, re-enters altruistic Aquarius on February 27, you are returning to old conversations and ideas. Leaving behind the emotionalism of Pisces for now, you have the opportunity in this innovative air sign to develop your ideas and to return to conversations with those who can help you. If you know which house Mercury is traveling through in your chart, you can apply those ideas to that area of your life.

February 28: Saturn opposes Neptune
In this opposition, realistic Saturn is challenging idealistic Neptune to put in the hard work so that you can manifest your dreams. Last year on August 31, the first of three oppositions took place. Back then you had a chance to assess your life and see where necessary changes needed to occur. Letting go of fantasies is a part of this period. At this second pass, take time to step back and analyze what it is that you need to do to move yourself forward and live the life of your dreams. Have you left your fantasy life behind? Watch out for denial. This is still the middle of the process though so don't expect changes overnight! The third of this opposition series takes place on June 25 this year, when you will begin to get your ducks in a row.
March 3: Virgo lunar eclipse
Over the past year with eclipses occurring in the axis of Virgo and Pisces, the signs of physical and spiritual health, you and the world are focusing on becoming healthier. Issues of food and water purity, exercise, the medical system and the environment are all receiving attention. Uranus' influence on this eclipse clearly signals that it's time to institute major changes. Lunar eclipses are like an extra-intense full Moon, which is an emotional high-tide time when you can assess where you are emotionally. In the days following this Moon but before the next new Moon on March 19 -- which is a solar eclipse -- get a plan together to improve your body, mind and spirit. Invest in what's working or make changes that will make you feel more comfortable. Apply yourself to a goal, a project, a dream. This is a serious Moon that stimulates you to accomplish your goals. Analyze, plan, get organized and implement!

The Stars This Week by Amanda Owen

Endings and Beginnings
02/19/07 - 02/25/07

The relationship planets enter new signs this week with Venus' entrance into fiery Aries on February 21 and Mars moving into independent Aquarius on February 25. But before Venus makes this transition, something needs to be left behind as she squares intense Pluto on February 19. In the middle of all of this relationship shifting, information becomes available on February 22 as retrograding Mercury joins the Sun in a conjunction that gives you something to consider before making any decisions.

February 19: Venus square Pluto

You know all the intensity that's been going on in your relationships? There's more here. Venus in sensitive, romantic Pisces can sometimes put rose-colored glasses on our outlook. Those shades come off now as Pluto's confrontation with Venus in this square makes you aware of what you can and can't control when it comes to relationships. Something needs to be released. Determine what you need to let go of. Is it a person or simply old beliefs that don't serve you anymore? It's time to transform your relationship values to reflect the person you are today.

February 21: Venus enters Aries

As the planet of love enters this highly active fire sign, it's time for you to get off the couch, turn off your computer and go out and do something! Looking for a mate? Try signing up for competitive sports: Racket ball, tennis or even getting into the batting cage are all fabulous ways to meet someone now. For those already with someone, keep in mind that Aries is the mythological god of war. This time can spark your passion; to fan those flames, choose an activity and get out of the house. Otherwise, you may turn your beady eyes on each other -- and that's probably not a good idea!

February 22: Mercury conjunct Sun

When retrograding Mercury connects with the Sun, you return to conversations that offer valuable information -- but it's not time to act on that data. For now, store it away. You'll be able to use it next month after Mercury turns direct on March 8. This conjunction takes place in Pisces, giving you a great opportunity to tune into the non-logical mind. Use your imagination and intuition to help you find solutions to big questions. Sometimes the answers are in the least likely places. Be open to that now.

February 25: Mars enters Aquarius

As action-oriented Mars leaves pragmatic, lets-climb-a-mountain Capricorn and enters one of the most independent signs of the zodiac, it's time for you to get creative, innovative and start coloring outside the lines. If you can harness the assertive energy of Mars and the determination of this fixed air sign, you can make inroads into areas you never thought possible.

Logic and emotion battle it out this month

From Tarot.com, Jeff Jawer

On Feb. 8 and 10, the Sun joins nebulous Neptune and opposes strict Saturn, a preview of these outer planets' exact opposition occurring on Feb. 28. Saturn is the planet of hard, cold reality, and Neptune is the planet of fantasy and illusions. The Sun's connections with them illuminates their contrast, which grows as a theme throughout the month. On the positive side, this can be a major step towards turning a dream into something tangible. This aspect can also put an end to illusions that bring no value to your life. Either way, this is just the second step in a process that began late last summer and will finish in late June this year, when Saturn and Neptune make their third and final opposition. It's possible, though, that the loss of a dream in one area of life frees up the time and energy necessary for making one real in another area.

Loving Venus fires into impulsive Aries on Feb. 21, which puts the spark into relationships but often involves risky behavior. The heart may jump, but investing your affection or your money too quickly may prove costly now. Active Mars enters Aquarius on Feb. 25 to turn idealism into action and provoke rebellious behavior. A restless urge to break old habits can be freeing and, ideally, can satisfy both emotional and intellectual needs for change. The Stars This Week by Amanda Owen

Take Your Time
02/12/07 - 02/18/07

This is quite an interesting week as the relationship planets -- lovely Venus and assertive Mars -- form a fun sextile aspect to each other on February 13. Both planets then quincunx the taskmaster, Saturn, on Valentine’s Day. Add to the mix Mercury turning retrograde in dreamy Pisces also on February 14, and it will take extra care to ensure that misunderstandings don’t occur. The new Moon in Aquarius helps join with like-minded people. Yet, when the Sun also enters Pisces on February 18, we'll all wonder what actually happened earlier in the week!
February 13: Venus sextile Mars
Venus in romantic Pisces and Mars in ambitious Capricorn make a great team in this water/earth combo. Venus softens the hard edges of Mars, and Mars provides a strong shoulder to lean on. If it weren’t for the fact that they are both about to make a quincunx (150 degree) aspect tomorrow forming a major aspect pattern called a Yod, everything would remain all sweet. Grab it today while it lasts!
February 14: Venus and Mars quincunx Saturn
Although Venus and Mars are getting along famously, they’re both held in check by the taskmaster, Saturn. Delays, restrictions and stop signs are all cautioning you to take your time and pay attention. Is somebody or something running interference? It may be as simple as the fact that you can’t find a babysitter, or your honey has a last-minute work assignment that delays your Valentine’s Day celebration. Perhaps your restaurant reservations weren’t made in time. Be flexible.
February 14: Mercury retrogrades in Pisces
Mercury entered empathic Pisces on February 2. You may be feeling a bit thin-skinned now as Mercury turns retrograde in this sensitive water sign. Take time alone to gather your thoughts and to tune into yourself without distractions. Have no fear -- Mercury will retrograde back into Aquarius later this month, and your logical mind will return. But for the time being, keep your emotions in check and don’t act until you know all of the facts. Take your time and don’t be impulsive. And, of course, defer decision-making until after Mercury turns direct on March 8. This aspect is renown for people making mistakes.
February 17: New Moon in Aquarius
Aquarius is the sign of freedom and independence. With the new Moon in this hopeful sign, you'll want to tune into the pleasure and comfort of others. Teamwork is your motto for this lunar cycle. Put energy into something you want to become stronger and more important in your life. Pluto forms a beautiful sextile aspect, which helps you deepen your connections with not only the people you love, but with humanity itself.
February 18: Sun enters Pisces
When the Sun leaves independent Aquarius and enters dream-seeking Pisces, it's time for you to tune into your subconscious. What do you really want? Do you have any idea? Use your imagination, grab a metaphorical surfboard and take this month to swim around with the Pisces fish. Float, dogpaddle, backstroke, tread water and ride the waves. Famous Pisces Albert Einstein, Michelangelo and Elizabeth Barrett Browning all tapped into their muse to produce some of the most beautiful art and revolutionary ideas the world has ever seen. Find your own muse this month and see what kind of magic you can create.
from Astrology.com

Mercury, the communication planet, now stands still in the sky. It's a great time to develop misunderstandings or have genuine gestures misinterpreted. It's also a fine time for missing crucial pieces of information. It is hardly, though, the most auspicious climate for sending or receiving Valentine's cards! Even if your missive reaches its intended destination, it may get as far as the "head" of the recipient but fail to reach their heart. Make sure, whatever you do or say, today... or tomorrow, that it is sincere. Commitments made under a stationary Mercury tend to prove very hard to break. – Jonathan Cainer
from Bubble.com

12th February 2007 - 18th February 2007
It's that time of year again; hearts, flowers, chocolates and expensive sparkles. So why do we do it? And who was Saint Valentine? Well, there were three different saints named Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. My pick, however, is the Valentinus who was executed for helping Christians escape torture and certain death in the Roman prisons. Apparently, he was in love with a young woman - possibly his jailer's daughter - to whom he wrote a love letter shortly before his death, signing it From your Valentine. I'm not sure whether we have quite the stars to match this love and death theme this year - we need a touch of Pluto for that - but with Mercury turning retrograde on the 14th we may all, like Yogi Bera, experience a sense of deja vue all over again!

Feb.13.07
Today's Outlook: A change in the cosmic weather is indicated by the Moon's entry into conservative Capricorn at 6:41 am EST, dampening an otherwise lovely sextile between the comic lovers, Venus and Mars. But the real turnaround comes from Mercury as it begins its thrice-yearly retrograde period with the reputation for mixing up messages, delaying appointments and unraveling plans. However, we can learn a lot by reconsidering our feelings about previous decisions.

Sun opposes Saturn this Saturday, see what Amanda Owen has to say

February 8: Sun conjunct Neptune

The Sun conjuncts Neptune once a year, marking a new beginning, a new cycle and a new dream. Neptune represents the we-are-all-one principle, where there are no divisions or boundaries, and alludes to a spiritual connection. The Sun is all about self-definition, so the potential when the Sun and Neptune come together is to experience your spiritual nature or to feel confused about who you are ... probably a little of both. This marks an idealistic, dreamy period. The Saturn opposition later this week will help you get your feet back on the ground.

February 9: Venus square Jupiter

Now that Venus is moving away from its conjunction with Uranus, things will calm down - hopefully. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, and this aspect can expand the pleasure principle represented by Venus, making this a time to beware of over-indulgence. But Jupiter also symbolizes beliefs, so in this square it's beneficial to make sure your relationships reflect your deepest-held beliefs. Venus in Pisces wants that romantic spiritual connection, yet Jupiter in Sagittarius wants to explore and roam. How do you get these two aspects to balance out? That's your problem to solve this week.

February 10: Sun opposite Saturn

Once a year, the Sun opposes serious Saturn, casting a spotlight on the rule-maker. This opposition always occurs at the halfway point of the Saturn retrograde period. Although this year the Saturn/Neptune opposition gives added complexity, it's still time to stand back and review how you're structuring your life. What important decisions are you making about yourself and the way you're living your life? As you enter the challenge of self-evaluation, make sure you don't slip over the line from assessing to depressing! This is simply a time to see how you can support yourself more effectively. Facing limitations and shedding old behaviors may be part of this process.
