The Stars This Week

Get Organized and Take Care of Unfinished Business 09/18/06 - 09/24/06
What a dynamic week! The solar eclipse in the last degree of Virgo on September 22 shines a big spotlight on the area of life where you need to put some old-fashioned elbow grease. Virgo is a work sign, and a solar eclipse highlights the sign it eclipses. By the next day, September 23, the Sun enters peace-loving Libra and you'll shift your focus to your social life and the issues of fairness and justice. Expansive Jupiter's third square to dreamy Neptune on September 24 brings a close to a long-term conversation that these two planets having been having since last February. Heightened idealism is the hallmark of this pairing.

September 16: Venus opposes Uranus
Change is good, right? When lovely Venus meets unpredictable Uranus a surprising turn of events in your relationships can occur. This is a relationship shake up time. If you are single, get out of the house and socialize. You just may meet someone -- and it won't be the type of person to whom you are normally attracted. If you are in a committed relationship, spice things up; get out of your normal routines. Meet up for a romantic lunch, get a baby-sitter and go out to the movies and get to know each other again. The main thing is that whatever you are used to doing -- do the opposite.

September 16: The Sun squares Pluto
All you want is to do a good job and have your efforts appreciated, right? Is that too much to ask? Well, as the work-oriented Virgo Sun squares recently stationed Pluto, you are presented with a challenge. People in positions of power, or to whom you have given power, have some strong beliefs about what you should do and how you should show up. You may feel like you are not getting the recognition you deserve, and the tendency is to get involved in a power struggle. Instead, focus on solidifying your own power base, and realize that doing a good job is not necessarily enough to get you the recognition you want. The most important things you may do this week is ask yourself if you are in an appropriate work or life situation. Whenever Pluto in Sagittarius is involved in an aspect, it's about letting go of a belief about something. Ask yourself what you need to let go of. This square is still very operational in next week's solar eclipse.

September 22: Solar Eclipse (New Moon) in Virgo
It's time to get out the broom, the vacuum and the dust mop! This is the second new Moon in Virgo; the first was on August 23 and occurred at 0 degrees of Virgo. This second one takes place at 29 degrees, and this one is a big deal since it's also a solar eclipse, which is like an extra intense new Moon. New Moons are a time of new beginnings, and this second one in Virgo is emphasizing the necessity of getting organized and getting your act together. So, ask yourself: Are you running your schedule or is your schedule running you? It is time to get down to the basics of how you are taking care of yourself, how you are getting things done. Solar eclipses occur at the north or south lunar node with the north node representing the future and the south node, the past. Since this eclipse occurs at the south node, it is clean-up time. It is time to take care of those things you've been meaning to get to that need your attention. Pay special attention to the issue of overwork, which can cause repetitive injuries and stress-related illnesses. What a great time to get an exercise program together and to eat healthfully! Since powerful Pluto squares this new Moon, you'll want to let go of the plans and projects that are clearly putting way too much on your plate.
September 23: Sun enters Libra
After all of that dynamic solar eclipse energy from yesterday (which is still making itself felt), the Sun enters peace-loving Libra and your focus shifts from work and practical concerns to establishing harmony in your life. Libra is an air sign and is concerned with fairness and justice, so take a breather from all of the intensity and invest in your social life. Libra is the premiere relationship sign, and during this month, you should reduce your workload and instead carve out more social time. Meet a friend for coffee, join a book club or enroll in a dance class.

September 24: Jupiter squares Neptune
This is a highly idealistic combo: It is generous, spiritual and optimistic. Jupiter in passionate Scorpio connects with Neptune in Aquarius' search for a better life. There are few planetary pairings that are as visionary as this one. This is actually the third time these planets square this year (the first square took place on January 27 and the second, on March 15). So you have had some time for dreaming. Hopefully you are giving your dreams the grounding necessary to make them come true. Keep your feet on the ground with this one to maximize the possibilities.

Weekly Overview
The midweek opposition between Venus and unpredictable Uranus can make for some sudden changes of direction in relationships now. Surprising shifts of feelings and plans could throw you off balance. But if you can stay open and flexible, this can be a chance for excitement in ways you've never experienced before. It's time to experiment and explore, rather than sticking to the old, tried and true values and attitudes about love.

Talk, Temperance and TruthSpeak your mind -- but be sure to be kind!
The energy continues to be quite dramatic coming off last week's Pluto station and lunar eclipse. This is not a quiet time! Relationship issues vie for your attention as talkative Mercury joins Mars in relationship-focused Libra on September 12. They come together in a conjunction on September 15, when people are likely to be opinionated. Add to this the relationship planet Venus opposing independent Uranus on September 16, the same day the Sun squares Pluto, and you have all of the ingredients for people and countries needing to sit down at the mediator's table. Can't we all just get along?

11th September 2006 - 17th September 2006
This Monday marks the fifth anniversary of 9-11, and the astrology is suitably profound. Uranus and Pluto bring the past into the present and secrets into the open, so we may find ourselves going back over that day, hoping to find answers and achieve a sense of closure. And while many people will be doing this in reference to those terrible events five years ago in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, others will find this period of the year one in which history is either repeating itself or demanding to be accounted for. Thus, for whatever reason this is an ideal moment to forgive, even if we cannot forget.

From Tarot.com
There is a planetary power surge this week, as mighty Pluto moves forwards after five months of backtracking. Expect to resurrect projects that you thought had fallen by the wayside long ago, Katherine. And there's more -- on the 6th, relationship planet Venus moves to Virgo and the following day is the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. You may feel that someone needs putting right, but I would advise you to count to ten before you tear a strip off him or her. Tact will be your best friend, so I advise to wait until the 8th, when Mars enters that most diplomatic sign, Libra. Then you'll be in a better position to tackle any touchy issues.

Between now and the next new Moon later this month, on September 22 (also the date of the autumn solar eclipse) -- get a plan together to make changes that will make you feel more comfortable. But for now, do yourself a favor. Watch a beautiful sunset, listen to a serene piece of music or sit quietly someplace where you can hear yourself think. You’ll be glad you did!Sincerely,Tomorrow evening brings a partial lunar eclipse. It will be impressive, partly because the Moon is due to look so large. It is currently close to 'perigee' which is a posh way of saying it is nearer to Earth than usual. It is also sitting low in the sky because we are at the 18.6 yearly peak of the 'lunar standstill' cycle. Low moons always look bigger than high ones. Cloud cover permitting, we'll see the Moon change colour as it rises around 8pm. I recommend planning an outing to somewhere with a good view of the Eastern horizon. The eclipse is visible in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia. The moment of greatest eclipse is 18.51 Universal Time (7.51pm in the UK; approx midnight, New Delhi; Sydney, 4.51am Friday).
